According to St. Augustine, a sacrament is a visible expression of invisible grace. In the Catholic Church, there are seven sacraments:
The Sacraments of Initiation:
• Baptism
• Confirmation
• Eucharist
The Sacraments of Healing:
• Reconciliation
• Anointing of the Sick
The Sacraments of Vocation:
• Matrimony
• Holy Orders
Our children should be enrolled for catechists (religious education) every year between 1st and 8th grade, whether a child is receiving a sacrament in that year or not. After 8th grade, we should attend adult education to continue to grow in our understanding in faith.
To prepare for a sacrament, please contact the office for additional information. You must register your child in our catechism program to prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
